Drones have become an essential tool for search and rescue operations. They offer a bird’s eye view of the area, enabling rescuers to cover a vast area in a short period of time, even in challenging terrains and harsh weather conditions. Here are some ways drones can be useful for search and rescue:

  1. Situational awareness: Drones can be used to efficiently build situational awareness, plot rescue strategy, and even relay messages to individuals once they are found.

  2. Covering large areas: Drones can cover large areas quickly and accurately, allowing search and rescue teams to locate missing persons and assess hazardous situations in a fraction of the time it would take with traditional methods.

  3. Assessing hazardous situations: Drones can be used to assess hazardous situations such as natural disasters, fires, and chemical spills. They can provide real-time data on the situation, which can help rescuers make informed decisions.

  4. Reaching inaccessible areas: Drones can reach inaccessible areas such as cliffs, mountains, and dense forests. They can provide a bird’s eye view of the area, which can help rescuers identify the best approach to reach the location.

  5. Keeping personnel safe: Drones can keep personnel at a safe distance while still providing valuable information about the situation. This can help reduce the risk of injury or death to rescuers.

In conclusion, drones are a valuable tool for search and rescue operations. They offer situational awareness, cover large areas quickly and accurately, assess hazardous situations, reach inaccessible areas, and keep personnel safe.

The benefits of hiring a local drone pilot versus one of the bigger guys

Hiring a local drone pilot can offer several benefits for businesses and individuals. They offer familiarity with the area, cost-effectiveness, faster response time, better communication, and support for local businesses.

Hiring a local drone pilot can offer several benefits for businesses and individuals. Here are some reasons why you should consider hiring a local drone pilot:

  1. Familiarity with the area: A local drone pilot will have a better understanding of the area they are flying in. They will know the terrain, weather patterns, and other factors that could affect the flight. This knowledge can help ensure a safe and successful flight.

  2. Cost-effective: Hiring a local drone pilot can be more cost-effective than hiring someone from out of town. You won’t have to pay for travel expenses, and the pilot may be able to offer a lower rate since they don’t have to travel far.

New service announcement! Thermal imaging services!

As we continue to grow and invest in our business, we are thrilled to announce we have announced a new category of services to the growing portfolio we offer. Thermal Imaging.

As we continue to grow and invest in our business, we are thrilled to announce we have announced a new category of services to the growing portfolio we offer. Thermal Imaging.

Thermal imaging is an up and coming sector in the drone industry and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of it.

Some of the ways ways in which we can help your business with this are:

  • Aerial thermal infrared inspection services for residential houses and properties. We can find sources of heat leakage, water damage, gas leaks, and assist in collecting valuable data for repairs.

  • Thermal imaging can be used to inspect substations and other electrical facilities. We can assist in detecting areas with excess head and potential sources of equipment failure.

  • Most of the heat loss in your home or any building is through the roof as heat rises. We can inspect the elements of a roof such as flashing membranes, and edges to look for heat leakage.

  • Thermal imagery can be used to inspect solar panel installations and arrays to detect damaged and defective panels for increased ROI.

  • If you are trying to recover a wounded or downed deer, lost cattle, Vermin control, missing person, or possibly a lost family pet. Thermal imaging can see things the naked eye cannot.

The importance of hiring a licensed pilot.

Learn about the benefits and importance of hiring a FAA certified drone pilot.

Hiring a licensed drone pilot is crucial for ensuring the safety of people and property, as well as complying with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. The FAA has strict rules and regulations when it comes to flying a drone, especially for non-recreational and commercial purposes . Here are some reasons why you should consider hiring a licensed drone pilot:

1. **FAA compliance**: A licensed drone pilot will know where, when, and how high they can fly. They’ll know how to get permission to fly in different classes of airspace. Most recreational drone operators don’t even realize they’re flying in controlled airspace, as most of northern Utah is – and there are strict penalties in place for those that break the rules .

2. **Safety**: Licensed drone pilots spend hours learning FAA regulations – rules that were put in place to keep both people and airspace safe. They know how weather, wind speed, and other conditions can affect flights. A licensed drone pilot makes safety a priority.

3. **Liability insurance**: Carrying drone insurance is a smart move where businesses are concerned. It shows that a pilot is professional and credible, despite the fact that the law does not currently require commercial drone operators to carry insurance. If you hire an uninsured or amateur drone operator, you’re putting yourself at risk, as homeowner’s insurance does not cover drone use for recreational operators.

4. **Professionalism**: When hiring a licensed drone pilot, it’s important to factor in the level of experience that can be provided. A licensed drone pilot will ensure that all FAA rules and regulations are being followed and that the shooting of footage goes off without a hitch. If you hire an unlicensed pilot, you can open yourself up to being involved in a potential accident, or worse, you could even receive fines for hiring an unlicensed drone pilot.

5. **Expertise**: A licensed drone pilot will have extensive knowledge about drones and their capabilities. This expertise will go a long way in helping solve any issues that may arise, and you can work together with the drone pilot to be aware of legal and operational restrictions.

In conclusion, hiring a licensed drone pilot is essential for ensuring safety, compliance with FAA regulations, and professionalism. It's important to factor in the level of experience that can be provided by a licensed drone pilot when making your decision.

Eric and Brianne Bischoff Wedding

July 5th, 2021

For me, there are two types of weddings, ones that I could be working on, and ones that I am there as a guest because of a friendship or family relationship.

This was a little of both

I had met Eric kayaking a few times and I could tell that we had plenty of things in common, especially our love for the outdoors. I was excited when the Maid of Honor reached out to inquire about me handling the videography for the wedding as a gift to Eric and Brianne. I see a wedding as more than just a job or a contract. It’s a learning experience, a chance to learn more about my camera, how to edit videos, an opportunity to get better as a photographer & videographer, a chance to help a friend remember his wedding day forever… And maybe spend a few minutes socializing with some mutual friends, after the job is done of course!

The ceremony was at St. Joseph in Monroeville, which is a beautiful church, followed by the reception at the Erie County Fairgrounds.

I am so thankful for the opportunity to help them remember their special day. Eric & Brianne, I hope you enjoy your video as much as I enjoyed putting it together.

A shoutout to the wedding Photographer Tiffany Murray Photography for her assistance and cooperation!

You can find her website below and her blog post for the wedding.

What's all the buzz about the new DJI FPV drone

DJI recently came out with a new drone called DJI FPV. FPV stands for “First Person View” in which these drones are flown in first person using goggles or an FPV headset. Similar to the oculus and other VR gaming headsets. This allows for a much more immersive flying experience than flying with a phone or tablet.

While this drone is fully capable of taking still images, it will primarily help our business with allowing us to capture video angles that we otherwise would not be able to with our traditional drones.

Another neat feature of this drone is the built in ADS-B receiver which alerts you to manned aircraft flights in your area, further increasing the safety of the drone operations we conduct.

Real Estate Drone Photography Pricing

One of the biggest questions we get is how much does real estate photography cost. Not every scenario is the same, but we try and keep it as uniform as possible and generally offer the same packages. For a basic real estate package with just pictures, we typically charge $150. That usually entails droning the property and dwelling and delivering around 6-12 fully edited final pictures. Our goal is to give you enough to be able to give you choices that suite what you want to showcase. Booking is very dependent on availability and weather. We try and schedule for mid-day when the sun is at it’s highest for the best lighting. We sometimes deviate from this if a client is alright with it and looking for faster results.
